Scapa 10 Year Old is a single malt from the Orkney Islands, in a 1990s bottling at 43% in a one-litre bottle. It was matured in ex-American oak barrels.
The nose offers pineapple, mango ice cream, crème brûlée, honey-topped pancakes and cinnamon buns, with a lift of orange peel. On the palate there is stewed apple, warming spice, vanilla custard, banana and milk chocolate, with gentle oak and a touch of charred wood. The finish is fruity and spiced, with a clean fade and a pronounced American oak character.
