Scapa – 10 Years Old (48%)

A ten-year-old single malt from the Scapa distillery on Orkney, bottled at 48%. It was matured in American oak, which gives plenty of vanilla alongside tropical fruit and honeyed notes. It can be taken neat or in a Scotch Old Fashioned. The nose opens with oaky vanilla and toffee, candied pineapple, dried mango, spiced banana bread and citrus. Honeyed fruit leads the palate, with sharp citrus and fresh orchard fruit, while creamy coconut and chocolate balance the woody spice. The finish is creamy, with banana, vanilla custard, milk chocolate and a steady touch of oak.
