Scapa Glansa Batch GL01 is a limited release single malt from the Orkney distillery, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in first-fill American oak, then finished in casks that previously held peated whisky. The finish adds a soft smoky edge to Scapa's unpeated, sweet and fruity spirit.
The nose is honeyed malt, ripe pear and soft vanilla with a little coastal smoke. On the palate come toffee, orchard fruits and smoky oak, and the medium finish carries light spice, sweet malt and a trace of peat.
