Scarabus Islay Single Malt Batch Strength (70cl, 57%)

Scarabus Batch Strength is an Islay single malt bottled by Hunter Laing at 57% in a 70cl bottle. It is drawn from a small selection of casks, and the distillery on Islay that made it is not named. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. Its character is sweet and peaty, with a fuller palate and a long finish. On the nose, apple and pear meet smoke reminiscent of a barbecue. The palate combines chilli spice and ash with honey and vanilla, and the finish keeps the honey, joined by toffee and sea salt.
