Delta Cephei III is a 14 year old single malt from the Scotch Universe range, distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2025 at 52.3% ABV. It matured in a first fill Shiraz wine barrique. The distillery behind the name is in Speyside and was founded in 1852.
Grapes, berry fruit and sweetened red fruit tea mark the nose, with a hint of damp wood and then strawberries and other light red fruit. The palate carries the same flavours, a little darker, with minimal tannins and a slightly drying end; the alcohol is well integrated. The finish is medium in length and warming, the fruity sweetness fading as it dries.
