Secret Highland 2004 is an 18 year old Highland single malt bottled for The Maltman, the brand of Meadowside Blending Co. of Glasgow, which Donald Hart and his son Andrew founded in 2011. It was distilled in October 2004 and bottled in May 2023 at 47.8%. The 251 bottles came from a single bourbon barrel, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose is full and fruity, with honey, figs, raisins and oriental spice. The palate offers heather honey and orange marmalade, a touch of toasted sugar, stewed pear, candied apple and gingerbread. The finish is long and intense, with nougat, apricot jam and butterscotch.
