Section 44 – French Oak Cask Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 47.5%)

This is a Tasmanian single malt from Section 44, released in small batches and matured in hand-selected French oak casks. It is bottled at 47.5% in a 70cl bottle. The French oak is credited with notes of dark chocolate, dried fruits and warm baking spices, while the cool Tasmanian climate allows a slow, even maturation. The nose is toffee, vanilla bean and spiced plum. On the palate it is full-bodied, with fig, toasted oak and a little citrus peel. The finish is long and warming, delicately spiced, with a touch of oak tannin.
