Shenk's Homestead is a limited annual Kentucky sour mash whiskey from Michter's Legacy Series, here in its 2026 release. It honours founder John Shenk and Kentucky whiskey roots dating back to 1753. It is bottled at 91.2 proof (45.6% ABV) in a 75cl bottle.
The whiskey is rye-forward and made by the sour mash process. It is partly finished in toasted, not charred, French oak from the Vosges region, air-seasoned for 24 months.
The nose offers toasted sugar, honey and warm baking spice. The palate brings toffee, nougat, dried fruit and baked sugar with rye warmth, and the finish is long, with cinnamon and herbal rye.
