Shin Select Blended Japanese Whisky (50cl)

Shin Select is a blended Japanese whisky in a 50cl bottle. It is made from whisky finished for two years, both ex-bourbon and ex-sherry, which had first spent three years ageing in American oak casks that previously held Japanese shochu. The nose combines cereal barley malt, caramelised sugar and light treacle with vanilla custard, crème brûlée, apples and pears. The palate starts light and smooth, with creamy caramel, fudge, toffee and vanilla, before a light wasabi heat and a little fennel add a spiced edge. The finish is of medium length, balancing creamy vanilla toffee with drying spiced oak and hints of peat.
