A heavily peated Japanese single malt from the Shizuoka distillery, distilled in 2019 and bottled in 2025 at 5 years old. It was distilled in an ex-Karuizawa still and matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel, giving 198 bottles at a cask strength of 65.4% in a 70cl bottle. As with the Raw Cask range, it has minimal filtration and no added colouring.
The tasting notes describe plenty of smoke with tarry, medicinal and iodine notes over coconut cream, charred vanilla and tropical peach. The mouthfeel is viscous, with peaty barbecue, black pepper, sea salt and a touch of citrus. The finish is long, with coal embers and spicy oak.
