Shizuoka – Pot Still K 100% Imported Barley First Edition (70cl, 55.5%)

This is a Japanese single malt from Shizuoka Distillery, the First Edition of Pot Still K made entirely from imported barley. It is bottled at 55.5% in a 70cl bottle, and only 3,000 bottles were produced. The whisky belongs to the distillery's K series and was distilled in still K, the steam-heated still that came from the Karuizawa Distillery. The barley is a mix of peated and non-peated Scottish malts. Maturation took place in bourbon casks and, for the first time at the distillery, sherry casks. It is described as having the fruitiness and lightness of the still, with a smoky taste from the peated malt.
