Singleton 17 Year Old is a single malt from the Special Release 2020 series, made at Dufftown in Speyside. It was distilled in 2002 and matured entirely in refill American oak hogsheads. It is bottled at a natural cask strength of 55.1%.
The nose opens with honeycomb, runny honey and a little beeswax, with light notes of dry grass and gorse, orchard fruit and a base of leafy earth. The palate is medium in weight and creamy, sweet and intense at first, then drier and fuller as the beeswax returns. The finish is fairly long and warming, with white pepper turning to chilli.
