Singleton of Glen Ord 17 Year Old Into the Blue is a Highland single malt from the Diageo Special Releases 2025, bottled at 55.5% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
It combines two Glen Ord parcels that were finished separately. Both began in refill casks. One then spent five years in Spanish second-fill sherry butts, while the other stayed longer in refill wood before a three-year finish in ex-mezcal casks from Mexico. The two were then married.
The nose is mild, dry and aromatic, with fine oriental spice, raisins and a vegetal mezcal note. The palate is smooth, sweet and lightly salty, with strong ginger. The finish is long, savoury and warming, with white pepper.
