Sliabh Liag The Legendary Dark Silkie Irish Whiskey (75cl, 46%)

Dark Silkie is a peated blended Irish whiskey from Sliabh Liag Distillers in County Donegal, bottled at 46% and non-chill filtered, in a 750ml bottle. Its core is a triple-distilled single malt peated to 55 ppm and matured in sherry casks. This is blended with double-distilled single malt from bourbon barrels and grain whiskey from virgin oak casks. It is bottled by hand at the Ardara Distillery. Salted caramel and dark chocolate lead the nose, with pipe tobacco and dried fruit beneath. The palate is rich and oily, with cocoa, roasted nuts and red berries, and the peat shows as dry, ashy smoke. The finish is long, with oak spice.
