The Legendary Silkie is a blended Irish whiskey from Sliabh Liag Distillers of County Donegal, and the first whiskey the company released. It is bottled at 46% ABV and is non-chill filtered.
The blend combines double-distilled and triple-distilled single malts with soft grain whiskey and a hint of peated malt. The name comes from the Silkie, the seal-folk of Donegal legend who shed their skins to walk on land.
The nose has green apple, ripe red fruits, honey and a breath of smoke. The palate is silky, with orchard fruit, malt sweetness and gentle oak, and the finish is soft and warming, with a flicker of peat fading into oaky sweetness.
