Sliabh Liag The Midnight Silkie is a peated Irish whiskey from Sliabh Liag Distillers in Donegal, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It blends five triple-distilled single malts, four unpeated and one peated, with the peated malt making up 35% of the blend. The whiskey is finished in sherry, bourbon, Oloroso, red wine, virgin oak and imperial stout casks. It is non-chill filtered, with no added colouring, and took Double Gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. The name comes from the Silkie legends of Donegal. The nose is muscovado sweetness, pipe smoke, Christmas spices, orange zest and chocolate orange. The palate moves from molasses to dry peat smoke, raisins and toffee apples, and the finish runs from sweet spice to dried fruit and peat-fire warmth.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
