Slyrs 2012 is a single malt from Bavaria in Germany, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2018. It was matured entirely in a single Oloroso sherry cask, and 462 bottles were filled.
The nose is rich, with raisins, figs and warm woody spices, and a layer of dark chocolate and almond beneath the sherry sweetness. The palate opens broadly and is creamy, almost velvety, with roasted nuts, orange peel and a hint of tobacco. The finish is long, warming and dry.
