Slyrs Bavarian Rye is a German rye whisky from the Slyrs distillery in Schliersee, Bavaria. It is made from a mash of rye, barley and wheat, with rye the main grain, giving a mildly sweet, spicy character. It is bottled at 41% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is very fruity, with ripe fruit, a touch of cinnamon and grain sweetness. The palate is mild and balanced, with sweet rye, liquorice, cinnamon and allspice, turning gently herbal and spicy. The finish is long and subtly dry, with pepper and gentle spice.
