Slyrs – Madeira Cask Single Malt Whisky (70cl, 46%)

This is a single malt from Slyrs, finished in Madeira casks. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky first spends four to five years in conventional American white oak casks. It then has a good two-year finish in barrels that held Madeira, the fortified dessert wine from the Portuguese island of the same name, taking on its light, fruity tones. The nose shows beeswax, pineapple, cedar wood and a little chamomile. The palate is dry with a soft mouthfeel, and the long finish carries roasted notes, honey and laurel.
