Slyrs – Rye Forty Eight (70cl, 48%)

Slyrs Rye Forty Eight is the higher-strength version of the distillery's Bavarian rye whisky, bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered and has no added colouring. The mash is rye-led, with wheat and malted barley alongside. The whisky spends at least three years in crocodile-toasted American oak casks, heavily charred barrels of American white oak, which add sweetness, spice and roasted notes. The Bavarian rye first joined the range in 2020. The nose is intensely fruity with strong cinnamon, a hint of vanilla and toasted oak. The palate is full, sweet and spicy, with liquorice, cinnamon, allspice and vanilla. The finish is long and slightly dry.
