Slyrs Marsala Cask Finish is a Bavarian single malt from Neuhaus am Schliersee in Upper Bavaria, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It spends three years in American white oak before a finish in former Marsala Superiore DOC casks from Sicily, where the fortified wine's character meets the malty spirit. It is bottled without chill-filtration or added colour, and shows a dark amber colour with copper reflections.
The nose offers ripe strawberries and redcurrants with a light sweetness. On the palate, notes of freshly cooked jam come with the warming spice of nutmeg. The long finish carries winey and floral notes.
