Slyrs – Single Malt Marsala Cask Finish (35cl, 46%)

Slyrs Marsala Cask Finish is a Bavarian single malt from Neuhaus am Schliersee, in a 35cl bottle at 46%. It is bottled without chill-filtering or added colour. The whisky first matured for three years in American white oak, then moved into casks that previously held Sicilian Marsala, using Marsala Superiore DOC casks. The finish adds the fruit of the fortified wine to the malty character of the spirit. In the glass it is a dark amber with a coppery shimmer. The nose offers ripe strawberries and red currants with a light sweetness. The palate recalls freshly cooked jam with warming nutmeg, and winey, floral notes linger in the long finish.
