Slyrs – Single Malt Port Cask Finish (70cl, 46%)

Slyrs Port Cask Finish is a single malt from Upper Bavaria, matured first in new American white oak and then finished for up to nine months in tawny port casks. The small oak casks come from Portugal, where they long held Douro Valley port. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The port casks add fruity and spicy notes, and the whisky shows brown tones with copper-red glints in the glass. The nose combines red berries, caramel and vanilla with malt and barley. On the palate, ripe fruit meets sweet, spiced oak. The finish is long and robust, with sweet oak lingering.
