A 2012 single malt from the Swedish distillery Smögen, bottled independently by Berry Bros. & Rudd at 59.6% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery is named after a fishing village on the Skagerrak. Founder Pär Caldenby built it himself in the outbuildings of a former farm and made his first cut between heart and feints in August 2010. It has two small copper pot stills, one holding only 900 litres, and a wormtub condenser.
Smögen's malts are generally described as powerful and smoky, with maritime hints and malty sweetness.
