A 2012 Smögen single malt from Sweden, bottled by Svenska Eldvatten at 63% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery is named after a Swedish fishing village on the Skagerrak. Smögen is a craft distillery built from the ground up by founder Pär Caldenby in the outbuildings of a former farm. Its two small copper pot stills include one that holds only 900 litres, and the spirit is cooled in a wormtub condenser. The distillery also holds bourbon and sherry casks. Smögen's single malts are generally described as powerful and smoky, with maritime hints and a malty sweetness.
