Smokey Joe Islay Blended Malt Scotch Whisky (70cl, 46%)

Smokey Joe is an Islay blended malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. Angus Dundee marries malt whiskies from several Islay distilleries, made from barley dried over local peat. It is bottled without chill-filtration. The heavy peat smoke is joined by maritime and savoury impressions, with grilled ribs, black olive tapenade and anchovy set against the sweetness of maple syrup, plus cedar spice, coffee and cocoa. The nose offers chimney soot and coastal smokehouses, grilled fennel, bell pepper and citrus oil. The palate begins with oily peat smoke and grilled ribs, then olive tapenade, anchovy, maple syrup and cedar. The finish moves from salted liquorice, espresso and soy sauce to cocoa, burnt toast and icing sugar.
