Smoky Scot Islay Single Malt is a five-year-old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, bottled independently by Aceo Ltd at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The spirit is heavily peated and was matured in bourbon casks.
Maritime smoke, sea salt, bonfire ash and tarry old wood open the nose. On the palate, peat and iodine give way to lemon zest, medicinal smoke and peppery warmth. The finish is slightly oily, with sweet malt, menthol and tar, ending in dry ash.
