Smuggler's Trail PX Cask is a Dutch blended whisky made by Zuidam Distillers in Baarle-Nassau, entirely from spirit distilled in their own pot stills. It is a limited release, bottled at 43%.
The blend combines single malt, wheat whisky and a five-grain whisky made from rye, corn, wheat, spelt and malted barley. This edition was matured only in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The nose is sweet, with dried fruit, raisins, caramel and vanilla. Chocolate and raisins lead the palate, and the medium finish carries chocolate, nuts and gentle sweetness.
