South Star Spirits 2011 10 Year Old Highland Single Malt (48%)

A 10 year old Highland single malt from South Star Spirits, vatted from 10 casks and intended to show the typical character of its region. It was bottled at 48% vol, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, with 2,200 bottles released worldwide. South Star Spirits introduced itself with three bottlings, from the Highlands, Speyside and Islay, and this is the Highland one. The nose brings dried orange zest, oriental spices and a hint of tobacco. The palate offers dark chocolate, nuts with honey and dried fruit, and a touch of oak. The finish is oily, nutty and sweet, and stays on the palate for a long time.
