Speyside (M) 2005 18 Years Old (Signatory Vintage, 40 Years Bernasconi) (70cl, 58.8%)

This is an 18 year old Speyside single cask malt from Signatory Vintage, bottled for the 40th anniversary of Bernasconi at the Waldhaus am See in St. Moritz. The distillery is marked only with the initial M. It was distilled in 2005 and matured in a first fill Oloroso sherry butt until 2023, then bottled at a cask strength of 58.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtering. The outturn is 666 bottles. The nose is fruity, with dark dried fruit and spicy oak, then citrus and toasted nuts. The palate is full, with dark dried fruits, dark chocolate, spicy oak and a light peppery spice. The finish is long, with dried fruit and oak.
