A 10-year-old Springbank from Campbeltown, bottled from a single refill sherry hogshead as a cage bottle in the Duty Paid Sample series. The label carries Warehouse 15 and Rotation 290.
The spirit was distilled on 9 October 2007 and bottled on 23 November 2017 at a cask strength of 59.2%. Refill wood lets the spirit lead, with the sherry in support.
The notes describe brine, a drift of peat smoke and vanilla pod on the nose, then an oily palate of salted toffee and dried apricot with a gentle sherry sweetness. The finish is long and warming, with salt and smoke lingering.
