Springbank 15 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV. Springbank was founded in 1828 and has been family-owned by J&A Mitchell ever since. It carries out every stage of production on site, from floor malting to bottling.
The nose combines demerara sugar, dark chocolate and Christmas cake with toasted almonds, toffee, clove and iodine. On the palate it is creamy and viscous, with raisins, figs, marzipan, Brazil nuts and vanilla over sooty kiln smoke and tobacco. The finish develops slowly, with leather and soot easing away.
