Springbank 15 Year Old is a single malt from the Springbank distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 46% ABV. This is the September 2022 edition.
The whisky is made up mostly of spirit from sherry casks. They give the light smoke a counterpoint of dark fruit and Christmas spice. It has no added caramel colouring and is not chill-filtered.
The nose brings dark chocolate, sugar, Christmas cake and rope, mixed with roasted almonds and charred oak. On the palate it is creamy, with raisin bread, figs, vanilla, Brazil nuts and small touches of smoke.
