Springbank 15 Year Old is a Campbeltown single malt matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV. It is heavily sherried and lightly peated.
The nose brings cured meat, beef jerky, clove, mint and iodine, with tinned prunes and a savoury, stock-cube depth, plus a coastal note of lobster creels. On the palate come kiln smoke, tobacco leaf, stewed prunes, figs, walnuts, demerara sugar and cocoa, with smoked meats and a chewy texture. The finish carries soot, leather and walnuts, and a salty note that fades slowly.
