This is a 25 year old Campbeltown single malt from Springbank, bottled at 46% ABV. The vatting draws on 70% sherry casks, 15% Bourbon casks and 15% rum casks, and the batch gave 1,400 bottles.
Rhubarb, tropical fruit, golden syrup and shortbread come first on the nose, followed by coconut flakes, chargrilled meat and brown sugar. The palate starts with almonds, pecan pie and caramel, then peat smoke builds, with cigar box and old library books, and a salty, earthy character. The finish carries a hint of peat smoke, with molasses and sweet ham.
