Springbank – 5 Year Old 100 Proof (70cl, 57.1%)

Springbank 5 Year Old 100 Proof is a new addition to the distillery's core range, matured entirely in bourbon casks and bottled at 57.1%, which is 100 proof in the old measure. It is a fresher style of Springbank with little cask influence, combining sweet, savoury and smoky character. The nose is bright, with green apple, gorse, wine gums and a mineral note. The palate is balanced, with a touch of peat smoke, icing sugar and white chocolate, then tomato plant, sunflower seeds and linseed oil. The finish brings honey and gooseberries.
