Cask Type
First-fill Madeira
A heavily peated German single malt from St. Kilian, distilled in 2017 and selected by the independent bottler Adelphi for its Selection series. It matured in a first-fill Madeira cask, and 351 bottles were filled at cask strength of 57.7%, without chill-filtration or added colour. The nose has bonfire smoke, stewed plums, orange peel and raisins, with leather, salted caramel and burnt sugar beneath. The palate is rich and full, with prominent peat smoke balanced by dried figs, candied orange and a touch of dark chocolate from the Madeira. The finish is long and complex, with smoke and sweetness and a warming feel.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
