This is a German single malt from St. Kilian Distillers in Rüdenau, Bavaria. The Kiliani Edition 'Bonifatius' is limited to 750 bottles, matured in German oak and bottled at 46% ABV in a 50cl bottle. It takes its name from Saint Boniface and the legend of Donar's Oak.
The nose opens with apple, ripe banana and sweet pear, joined by creamy vanilla, roasted nuts and fine chocolate. The palate is soft and balanced, with fresh fruit and sweet vanilla carried by gentle oak spice. The finish is short to medium, echoing the soft wood with vanilla and a mild fruit sweetness.
