Starward '100 Proof' is a single malt made in Melbourne, Australia, and bottled at 100 proof, which is 50% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in American oak red wine barrels, many of which previously held cabernet and shiraz from the Barossa Valley.
The nose brings vanilla pods, blackberry jam, toasted oak and ripe plums, with fig and raisin underneath. On the palate there is chocolate ganache, Muscadelle raisins, quince paste, cinnamon and baked banana bread. The finish is long, with baking spices, ripe figs and oak sweetness.
