Starward – Two-Fold Double Grain (75cl, 40%)

Starward Two-Fold is a double grain whisky from Melbourne, made from wheat (60%) and malted barley (40%). The two grains are distilled and matured separately in Australia, and the whisky matures entirely in Australian red wine casks. It is bottled at 40% in a 750ml bottle. A big, fruit-forward whisky, it is described as suited to sipping over ice on a warm evening or to use in cocktails. The nose offers plum, banana bread, caramelised dates and a hint of nutty malt. On the palate come soft vanilla fudge, coffee and walnut cake, summer berries and stewed stone fruit, leading to a finish of brown sugar, cinnamon and peppercorn.
