Stauning Young Rye 2014 Danish Whisky, Bottled February 2018 (43.3%)

A Danish rye whisky from Stauning Whisky Distillery, released as Young Rye. It was distilled in 2014 and bottled in February 2018 at 43.3% ABV. Stauning began as a hobby project among nine friends, who turned a former slaughterhouse in Stauning, in west Jutland, into a small distillery from the autumn of 2005. They malted barley by hand on the floor of the old cold room and fed the old smokehouse with peat from Klosterlund Museum.
