Blue Peak is a Colorado single malt from Stranahan's in Denver, made at high altitude and aged for four years in 53-gallon new American oak barrels with a number 3 char.
After maturing, it is finished using the Solera method, in which older spirit is continuously blended with younger batches. The name comes from a 13,000-foot peak in Aspen.
The nose brings toasted oak, vanilla and fruit. The palate is rich and mellow, with fruit, butterscotch and caramel, and the finish is warm and medium-long, with fruit and butterscotch lingering.
