Strathdearn is the name under which Glaschu Spirits Company bottles Tomatin, a Highland distillery in the Monadhliath Mountains near Loch Ness. This single cask 10 year old was distilled in 2014 and bottled at 50%, with natural colour and without chill filtration. It runs to 324 bottles. The whisky spent its first nine years in a refill bourbon barrel, then a final year finishing in a first-fill Madeira wine cask. That finish adds apricot, caramel, custard and warming spice to the spirit. The label shows the Viperfish, a homemade fibreglass submarine used by Dan Taylor in his searches for the Loch Ness Monster.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
