This is a 16 year old single malt from Sullivans Cove, a small craft distillery in Tasmania. It was matured in a single American oak cask, number TD0331, from November 2008 to May 2025, and bottled at 47.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. 218 bottles were filled.
It was released for a 10th anniversary and marks a friendship of two decades between Barry Eric Dick and the founder of the company behind the anniversary. The name, 'Whisky & Friends: The Best Pairing of All', also nods to Barry's love of Thor comics.
The nose is ripe pineapple and greengage with baked pastry. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with figs in syrup, candied fruit and malt. The finish brings liquorice, shortbread and citrus.
