Sullivans Cove 17 Year Old is a single cask Tasmanian single malt, matured in an American oak ex-bourbon barrel. Cask HH0476 was filled in 2000 and decanted on 4 April 2018 after seventeen years and six months, and it gave 151 bottles at 47.6% abv, each 700ml.
It is among the oldest single cask whiskies the distillery has released.
The nose offers banana, walnut, crème caramel, liquorice, kumquats, black pepper, camphor and old oak. The palate is creamy and sweet, with banoffee pie, meringue, macadamias, sweet pastry, toffee apple and milk chocolate fudge. The finish of vanilla, coconut and preserved fruit runs on a malty cocoa line and lingers for a long time.
