Suntory Hakushu 18 Year Old

Hakushu 18 Year Old is a single malt from Suntory's Hakushu distillery, the highest operational distillery in Japan at more than 2000 feet above sea level. It is made from whisky matured for at least 18 years. The distillery draws soft, low-mineral water from the base of Mount Kai Komagatake, and many of its whiskies are lightly peated. Here that peat sits alongside both sherry and bourbon influences, with a slight floral note that opens up with time in the glass. The flavours include rich fruits, citrus, honey, apricot and sweet dark chocolate, with a little lemon and very gentle cinnamon and clove in the background.
