Hibiki 30 Year 2022 Edition is a blended Japanese whisky from Suntory, bottled at 43% in a 75cl bottle. It brings together malt whisky from the Yamazaki and Hakushu distilleries with grain whisky from Chita, and every component has been matured for at least 30 years.
The casks include Japanese Mizunara oak. The 2022 Edition is a particular blending selection assembled by Suntory's master blenders.
The nose opens with aged leather, prune, raisin, sweet chestnut and a little incense, with sandalwood emerging over time. The palate is velvety, with brown sugar, dried fig, apricot jam, cedar, gingerbread and dark chocolate. The very long finish holds cinnamon, candied orange peel, roasted chestnut and a hint of mint.
