Suntory – Old Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Suntory Old is a Japanese blended whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 86 proof (43%). It was produced as early as 1940 and came onto the market in 1950, gaining wide popularity in the years after the war. It can be seen as the company's first attempt at a luxury whisky. The blend has been mellowed by strengthening the sherry cask element, which was formerly the old key malt. The colour is fairly dark and the nose is balanced. The palate is medium-bodied, with a slight spicy kick in the finish.
