Suntory The Chita Single Grain Japanese Whisky (70cl, 43%)

Suntory The Chita is a Japanese single grain whisky from the Chita distillery on the Chita Peninsula, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. Created in 2015, it was crafted by Master Blender Shinji Fukuyo using American white oak, wine casks and Spanish oak casks. Chita distils with a multi-column process using corn, and its grain whiskies have traditionally formed the base of Suntory's blends. This one is released as a single grain in its own right. Crème brûlée, cardamom, acacia honey and blossoming rose lead on the nose. The palate is mild and smooth, with a hint of mint and deep honey. The finish is clean and clear, with spiced oak and subtle bittersweet notes.
