A single malt Scotch from Clynelish in the Highlands, bottled by Berry Bros & Rudd under the Sutherland name. It was distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2023 at 51.2%, after 22 years in a hogshead. This is a single cask bottling, cask 1436, with an outturn of 342 bottles. Its character is linked to the waxy style of Clynelish. The nose offers floral honey, antique furniture and fruit gums. On the palate there is warm honey, tarte tatin and almonds, with subtle beeswax. The finish brings wood smoke that moves towards spice and tobacco.
